GRIGORYAN Hovhannes was born on August 7, 1945 in Leninakan. An Armenian writer, publicist, and translator. He graduated from Yerevan State University in 1970. In 1989–95 H. Grigoryan was the deputy editor of “Nork” journal, the chief editor of “Grakan Tert” in 1996–98, of “Ar” TV in 1998–2001, from 2002 he was the chief editor of “Serund” electronic newspaper of Writers' Union of Armenia as well as “Mihr” journal. The works of H. Grigoryan are singled out with humor, allegories, with unique interpretation of events (Collections of poems "Songs without Music",1975, "Quite Different Autumn", 1979, "Rain on a Sad Occasion" 1982, “Slow Hours”, 1986, “Angels from the heaven of Childhood” , 1992, “Half time”, 2002, as well as the novel “Nazar the Brave, 2004). In 1983 the “Melody” company (Moscow) released a CD of readings of Grigoryan. He did many translations from Russian, Spanish and English. Grigoryan wrote for children too ( “Your first Words”, 1980, “The very, very Sona” 1987). He received an award from Central Committee in 1976, an award after A. Isahakyan in 1987, a Pan-Armenian award “Vahagn” in 2002. In 1998 Grigoryan has awarded a RA Movses Khorenatsi medal.
