SHUSHANYAN Vazgen (Onik) was born on February 9, 1903 in Rodosto. An Armenian writer. In 1915, together with his family he was exiled to the deserts of the Middle East. Having deprived of the family, Shushanyan found shelter in various orphanages. In 1923 he settled in Paris. The complex and contradictory life of the Armenian Diaspora, and their struggle against the threat of assimilation are the main themes of Shushanyan works. The novels "Spring" (1927), "The days are not nice" (1929), "White Varsenik" (1960), the collection of short stories "Sail of Death" were published. 

In 1960 the archive of Shushanyan was brought to Armenia. 

V. Shushanyan died on June 2, in 1941 in Paris.
